Jura vs Breville: Main Differences and My Personal Favorite Coffee Machine

When it comes to choosing a home espresso machine, you want one that will make great-tasting coffee with little effort on your part. The Jura and Breville machines are two of the most popular choices on the market.

But how do they compare? And which one should you choose for your home?

Jura vs Breville: Main Differences

When it comes to choosing between the Jura and Breville machines, there are a few key differences to consider.

What distinguishes Breville from Jura is the filter system they use to make your coffee. The filters Breville uses are classified as “gold tone,” while Jura employs paper filters that have been treated to be especially thick and absorbent.

By allowing more oils from the coffee grounds to seep into your cup, these different types of filters impact the flavor and richness of your drink.

Another difference between the two is the grinder. The Breville espresso machine comes with a conical burr grinder that can be adjusted to different grind settings.

The Jura, on the other hand, has a disk-type grinder that offers 6 different grind settings.

The final notable distinction is in the milk frothing systems. Both machines come with steam wands that can be used to froth milk for drinks like lattes and cappuccinos.

However, the Breville also has an automatic milk frothing system that can be used to make latte macchiatos and other espresso-based beverages with the push of a button.

Jura vs Breville: How To Use Each Machine?

Now that we’ve gone over some of the key differences between these two machines, let’s take a look at how to use each one.

Brewing espresso with the Breville machine is pretty straightforward. Just grind your beans (using the included grinder), measure out your grounds, and tamp them into the portafilter.

Then, insert the portafilter into the machine and press the “espresso” button. In about 30 seconds, you’ll have a rich, flavorful shot of espresso.

If you want to make a milk-based drink, like a latte or cappuccino, you’ll first need to steam your milk. To do this, insert the steam wand into the milk and turn it on.

The machine will automatically froth the milk for you. Once it’s reached the desired consistency, turn off the wand and add your espresso shot.

Making coffee with the Jura is a similar process. First, grind your beans and tamp them into the portafilter.

Then, insert the portafilter into the machine and press the “coffee” button. In about 30 seconds, you’ll have a fresh cup of coffee.

If you want to make a milk-based drink, you can use the steam wand to froth your milk just like with the Breville. Or, if you want to make things even easier, you can use Jura’s automatic milk frothing system.

Just pour milk into the designated container and press the button for the type of drink you want. The machine will do the rest, frothing and mixing your drink to perfection.

Jura vs Breville: Which One Should You Choose?

So, which machine should you choose for your home espresso needs? If you’re looking for an easy-to-use machine that will make great tasting coffee with little effort on your part, either the Breville or Jura would be a good choice.

Both machines are worth the money since they’ll last for years and make hundreds, if not thousands, of cups of coffee.

If you want a machine that’s especially easy to use, go with the Breville. The automatic milk frothing system is a great feature that takes all the guesswork out of making lattes and cappuccinos.

And, if you like having a lot of options when it comes to making coffee, the Breville’s conical burr grinder gives you more control over your grind than the Jura.

If you’re looking for a machine that will make great tasting espresso, go with the Jura. The thick, absorbent paper filters allow more of the coffee’s oils to seep into your cup, giving you a richer, more flavorful espresso shot.

And, if you want to froth milk for your drinks, the Jura’s steam wand does a great job.

At the end of the day, both machines are excellent choices for anyone looking for a quality espresso machine for their home.

So, it really comes down to your personal preferences as to which one you choose. Whichever machine you decide on, you’re sure to be happy with your purchase.
