There are plenty of coffee maker brands floating around the market these days, but none better known, perhaps, than Keurig. We might even call Keurig the modern day Robinhood of coffee makers: They’re saving caffeine-hungry adults with their high quality, yet inexpensive, coffee makers. Keurig is fairly inexpensive when compared to some other coffee maker brands, anyway.
I currently have a Keurig K-Mini Single Serve coffee maker sitting on my kitchen counter, but I’ll admit that it’s not necessarily ideal for making iced coffee and other fancy drinks. It’s built for simplicity, compactness, and—let’s be real—brewing single cups of plain hot coffee.
Keurig has a variety of other coffee makers—over 50 different models—on the market, though, and there are a few of them that are perfect for making iced coffee.
So, if you were already thinking about treating yourself to a new coffee maker that can produce a great iced coffee, I have a few Keurig models that might be of interest to you.
- Keurig K-Elite
- Keurig K-Supreme
- Keurig K-Cafe
- Keurig K-Duo Single Serve
- Keurig K-Select
- Keurig K-Duo Plus
- Keurig K-Compact
- Keurig K-Classic
- Keurig K-Latte
- Keurig K-Slim
Read on to learn about each of these ten Keurig coffee makers so you can decide which is best for you. Keep in mind even though not all of these have a dedicated iced coffee feature they are all capable of making iced coffee.
Keurig K-Elite
Pros:
- Iced Coffee Function
- Strong Brew Function
- Water tank holds up to 8 cups of water
- Quiet brewing
- Quick brewing
- 5 cup size options
- Auto On and Off Feature
The Keurig K-Elite is available in 3 color options: Brushed Slate, Brushed Gold, and Brushed Silver. The K-Elite offers three brewing options. You can brew regular, bold (strong), or iced. In additions, there are five cup sizes: 4 oz, 6 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz, and 12 oz.
The water tank for this Keurig holds up to 8 cups and is quick and easy to refill. This brewer is also quick and quiet when it brews. Each cup takes less than a minute to brew once the machine is ready. The K-Elite is the best Keurig for Iced Coffee if you want the option to brew a lot of coffee.
Now, this is what I think:
If iced coffee is a year-round type of thing for you—you find yourself enjoying a chilled iced coffee in the dead of winter—then it may be worth checking out the Keurig K-Elite because it was created with iced coffee in mind.
The Keurig K-Elite comes equipped with an “Iced Coffee” button that—when pushed—brews around 5.75 ounces of concentrated coffee at a lower-than-normal temperature so you can easily just pour it over ice once brewed.
In addition to being designed for the iced-coffee-lover, the Keurig K-Elite also includes a temperature control function, a massive 75-ounce water tank (one of the largest among Keurig coffee makers), takes reusable filters, has a removable drip tray, and is strangely—but wonderfully—quiet while brewing.
Keurig K-Supreme
Pros:
- Iced Coffee Function
- Strong Brew Function
- Fast Brew
- MultiStream Technology
- Dual Position Water Tank
The Keurig K-Supreme is available in 3 color options: Black, Grey, and White. The Dual Position Water Tank holds 66 ounces of water. Dual Position allows the tank to be placed behind the Keurig brewer or alongside it. This makes it ideal for those looking for flexibility on their counter.
The K-Supreme also has an Iced Coffee Function and a Strong Brew Function in addition to the regular brew option. The MultiStream Technology gives a stronger, more flavorful brew with a better aroma. The only downside is that the MultiStream Technology requires a special reusable K-Cup filter. The K-Supreme is the perfect best Keurig for iced coffee if you need something smaller and more space efficient.
Now, this is what I think:
This coffee maker is exactly what its name implies: Supreme.
Similar to the Keurig K-Elite, the Keurig K-Supreme has a function specifically for iced coffee. However, with the Keurig K-Supreme, you simply fill a cup with ice, place it under the coffee maker’s spout, select the amount of coffee to brew, hit the “Over Ice” button, and let the coffee maker go to work.
The Keurig K-Supreme is also somewhat groundbreaking in the coffee world since it uses multi-stream technology rather than single-stream technology.
Single-stream coffee makers produce coffee using just one stream of water, which can sometimes leave coffee tasting bland and one-dimensional. Multi-stream technology, on the other hand, uses several water streams to give coffee a rich and full taste that can oftentimes be missing from single-stream coffee.
The Keurig K-Supreme also has strong brew and fast brew functions, is available in a variety of colors, and has a 66-ounce water tank.
Keurig K-Cafe
Pros:
- Includes built-in Milk Frother
- 4 cup sizes – 6 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz
- Strong Brew Option
- Shot Brew Option
- Compatible with reusable filters
- 60-ounce Water Reservoir makes 6-8 cups
The Keurig K-Cafe is available in Charcoal and Nickel color options. This brewer is bigger than the previous ones and takes up more counter space. It includes a built-in milk frother that can froth milk both hot and cold.
This Keurig has a strong brew, regular brew, and espresso shot brew option. This makes the K-Cafe a flexible option for someone interested in drink versatility. You can make hot or cold brews, lattes, and more. The Keurig K-Cafe is the best Keurig for iced coffee if you are looking for versatility and options.
Now, this is what I think:
If you are a coffee-lover and coffee connoisseur, then the Keurig K-Café may be right up your alley. The Keurig K-Café is basically a compact espresso machine that also has the ability to brew plain black coffee. Though, I’m not entirely sure you’ll want plain black coffee after you start making iced lattes and cappuccinos with the Keurig K-Café.
Aside from the fact that the Keurig K-Café can brew both espresso-type shots and plain black coffee, the main attraction of this Keurig model is the built-in milk frother, which can be used to froth milk for both hot and cold drinks.
It’s worth noting that the built-in milk frother is somewhat of a rarity among Keurig coffee makers, so if it is an absolute necessity for you—or you are just looking to get rid of your old espresso machine and replace it with something simpler and more compact—then the Keurig K-Café could be a good fit for you.
In addition to the obvious benefit of having a built-in milk frother, there are several other features worth considering with the Keurig K-Café such as the fact that it has a strong brew function, takes reusable filters, and has a 60-ounce water tank.
Keurig K-Duo Single Serve and Carafe
Pros:
- Compatible with K-cups and ground coffee
- Strong Brew Option
- Brews single cups and a carafe
- Pause and Pour Technology
- Auto-brew capability
The Keurig K-Duo Single Serve and Carafe does not have the multi-position water reservoir. Instead, the water is in the back and the single serve and carafe are side by side. The pro of a side-by-side brewer is that you can make a single cup while also brewing in the carafe.
The carafe brewer uses ground coffee while the single serve section uses K-cups. You can brew a single cup in a 6 ounce, 8 ounce, 10 ounce, or 12 ounce portion. For the carafe you can brew 6 cups, 8 cups, 10 cups, or 12 cups.
Now, this is what I think:
One thing that I have definitely been missing with my Keurig K-Mini Single Serve coffee maker is the ability to make multiple cups of coffee at once: Sometimes you just need to drink several cups of coffee in one day, and having a carafe option makes that much easier to achieve.
The main benefit of the Keurig K-Duo Single Serve and Carafe is that you can utilize single serve coffee or the carafe, as needed.
Although the Keurig K-Duo Single Serve and Carafe coffee maker does not have a function specifically for iced coffee, you can simply throw some ice into either your own cup or the carafe itself and brew the coffee directly over the ice.
This process may not give you the same bold and rich flavors as some of the other machines on this list, but the Keurig K-Duo Single Serve and Carafe is absolutely ideal when you need to make mass amounts of iced coffee—for instance, if you are holding a Sunday morning brunch at your house or you have a spouse who requires mass amounts of iced coffee to be tolerable—in a short amount of time.
In fact, this Keurig model appears to be built for speed: It comes equipped with smart start technology that brews coffee without having to wait for that pesky pre-heating process to finish.
The Keurig K-Duo Single Serve and Carafe also features a pause and pour function for the carafe, strong brew functions, and takes reusable filters. Since this model also includes a carafe, it technically can hold more water than any other model since the carafe holds approximately 96 ounces (or 12 cups) and it has a 60-ounce water tank for single serve coffee.
And here are few more Keurig models that might be of interest to you:
Keurig K-Select
Pros:
- 4 cup sizes – 6oz, 8oz, 10 oz, 12 oz
- 52-ounce water reservoir
- Removable cup tray
- Strong Brew Option
- Available in 6 color options
The Keurig K-Select offers the most color options so far. You can get one in black matte, white matte, navy matte, oasis, sandstone, and vintage red. The K-Select offers a regular brew and strong brew option.
This brewer is smaller than the K-Cafe but bigger than the Keurig K-Supreme and similar in size to the Keurig K-Elite. The K-Select is cheaper than both the K-Supreme and the K-Elite. It also includes the auto off feature.
Keurig K-Duo Plus
Pros:
- Single Serve Option
- 12 Cup Carafe Option
- Compatible with K-Cups
- Compatible with loose ground coffee
- Strong Brew Option
- Multiple Brew Size Options
- Multiple Position water reservoir
- Pause and Pour Technology
The Keurig K-Duo Plus offers the most brewing size options. You can brew a single cup in 6 ounces, 8 ounces, 10 ounces, or 12 ounces. You can also use the carafe to make 6 cups, 8 cups, 10 cups, or 12 cups.
The K-Duo Plus is compatible with both k-cups and loose ground coffee. In addition, you have a strong brew option. The K-Duo Plus has a 60-ounce water reservoir which can be placed to the right or left or back of the main machine. This gives you plenty of counterspace versatility.
Keurig K-Compact
Pros:
- 5 color options
- 36-ounce water reservoir
- 3 cup sizes
The Keurig K-Compact is available in 5 color options on Amazon: black, red, turquoise, white, and grey. The reservoir for this Keurig is one of the slimmest. It is easy to remove and refill.
The K-Compact is a good choice for someone looking for value and simplicity. This coffee brewer doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the others but it makes a good cup of coffee, it is easy to use, and is usually less expensive.
Keurig K-Classic
Pros:
- Removable drip tray
- 48-ounce water reservoir
- 3 cup sizes
The Keurig K-Classic is available in black and rhubarb (red). It has a bigger reservoir for water than the compact version. It holds 48 ounces of water. There are three cup sizes: 6 ounces, 8 ounces, and 10 ounces.
This simple classic design is perfect for someone who cares less about space and more about how many cups you can make. Like the K-Compact it is simple to use and less expensive then some of the other Keurig coffee makers out there.
Keurig K-Mini
Pros:
- Less than 5 inches wide
- 6 color options
- Brews any cup size between 6 and 12 ounces
The Keurig K-Mini is great if you need a small brewer. It only brews one cup at a time and you have to fill the reservoir with water each time. However, this design saves space as the K-Mini is less than 5 inches wide.
There are 6 color options on Amazon: Black, Poppy Red, Dreamy Blue, Studio Grey, Dusty Rose, and Oasis. This coffee maker isn’t the best if you have company over, but it works fine if it is just you.
Keurig K-Slim
Pros:
- 46-ounce water reservoir
- Less than 5 inches wide
- 3 cup size options
The Keurig K-Slim is available in black or white and is less than 5 inches wide. It is longer than the K-Mini because of the 46-ounce water reservoir in the back. The slim design makes it perfect for small kitchens and the larger reservoir means you can share coffee with friends.
You can brew a cup of coffee in 8 ounces, 10 ounces, or 12 ounces. This brewer does not offer smaller cup sizes.
